i can somewhat use that page, untill it does what i want, but i can't
explain it.

However 99.9 % of the users have no bussines deviating from the
defaults, so there is nothing to set.

As I understand it you also have to factor in what player you have for
it to make sense.

Per default everything is played natively , except wav and aiff that is
transcoded to flac to save bandwith.
Or if the player wont support it.

The settings per format is a bunch of abilities the server can use if
needed, it tries to use the " best " one.

For example flac=native if you deselect that, it uses the second best
option flac as pcm if you deselct that to it only has mp3 left.

The defaults may differ depending on platform.

On some nas boxes transcoding wav to flac is not a possibility, so
there wav is also native.

And you can invoke bitratelimiting in the player settings, this also
changes prio, sudenly everything is mp3 if allowed by the filetype
settings ( otherwise it wont work )
