I'm trying to understand why you want to put transmission on the Touch in the first place. My understanding is that it is its own linux distribution with a bunch of "studio" music apps (synthesizers, drum machines etc). If all you want to do is play music, most people will run MPD, I'm sure you can get MPD compiled for arm.
It will work with local or remote music repositories and supports many different remote control apps on different devices.
