A large amount of CPU and memory resources can be used when loading large playlists. Information for every track needs to be fetched from the database and then transferred into that memory structure. It was common for people to load thousands of tracks at a time into the current playlist, which would bring many servers (not just the Touch) to grinding to a halt, causing dropouts and other nonresponsive behavior. So a limit was introduced. > But all we are doing is speculating. The limitations of the hardware became apparent during the beta testing of the Touch, which took place several years ago. As it was, it lead to a number of limitations placed on the software to make it as functional as it is. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95280 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
