riffer, thanks a lot for your input. Much appreciated. There's so much going on with the new DDCs and the new versions of XMOS chips these days that it's hard to keep track of them all. Much less which ones are SBT/EDO compatible. Regarding I2S, I think it's the superior interface no matter what sample rate we're dealing with.
