"IrfanView" is a free program (maybe only free for personal use) that reads
and writes many graphics formats. I've used it with great success on
Windows 95 and 98 systems. It is regularly updated/maintained by the
author. It can be found at both www.hotfiles.com (ZDNet network) and
www.downloads.com (CNet network).
