This is documentation from mod_wsgi, but still describes the
architecture issues.

Can you go back to using supplied tools and indicate what the specific
error was you had then. I don't remember having any issues with
getting Trac to work on Leopard and I don't remember having to do the
fiddles for different architectures either, but then if you are
installing special plugins requiring additional third party modules
etc, then you may strike issues, if the third party modules have C
extensions and you are trying to run under Apache using mod_wsgi or a
tweaked mod_python.
