Yeah -- when I lived in Stamford (CT), I had 10m/10m ...and paid the standard price. I was surprised when I got down here and realized how slow their basic ...and even "Premium" service was. In talking with TWC reps, they said the bandwidth was set to what it was based off "standards" and "customer feedback". Both of which I think is B$. They told me if I wanted anything else to upgrade to a business level plan.

I had RCN ( http://www.rcn.com ) in Philadelphia. They were pretty good about periodically upgrading speeds for customers. I've only been gone a year and boy have they upgraded. Residential users can now get 20/2 Mbps/sec. When I lived there I was getting 10M/800K and the performance was consistently very good. Internet options in the Triangle have mostly been pretty poor from what I've been able to find. That said, I'm house hunting right now. Are there any ISP's in the Triangle offering substantially faster services than TWC? -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/ -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/
