I wouldn't say that. There may be a lot of free software, but an unfortunate majority of supporters of this software are open source supporters. You can see this everywhere. Just look at GNU/Linux distros: that very few of them mention GNU in their name is a minor point compared to the fact that most of them have no problem with distributing some nonfree software because it's practical. And then you have Linux Mint, which just goes completely over-the-top in that regard (including nonfree software such as Flash and the nonfree Java runtime environment on the live DVD itself), and that's supposedly the second most popular distro.
