Have you reported that card to www.h-node.org ? It would help. I think I  
found your laptop from h-node  
(http://h-node.org/notebooks/view/en/391/ThinkPad-T42-type-2374). It seems to  
have a different card which is reported as working. Maybe you could try to  
find one of those. You can also contact ThinkPenguin.
