I've got the opposite experience, when tried RBDoom3BFG, and Dante on Trisquel. The compilation process of the BFG port went pretty smoothly, and the game worked just fine (except that the audio was a little choppy in menu), but this wasn't the case with Dante, which was a complete mess.

I will add some proper documentation for the compilation of these games, on Trisquel 6.0, as soon as I get my computer working again.
