The custom design is overblown, anyway. There are one or two things I would  
customize on my WordPress blog, but there is a theme for virtually every  
purpose imaginable, and you could easily find something that does almost  
exactly what you want. Especially if all you want is a simple website without  
all the hassle of hosting your own, WordPress is a good choice.
