It would make sense to make some kind of rundown for getting people out of
the idea of following a guru blindly.

I must admit, it wasn't exactly a scientology process that did it for me
either. It was more indirect. It was when I had done what I considered "the
whole bridge", and there was nothing else to do. It was a bit of a loss at
first, but then I learned to look for myself and think for myself, and I
realized I had all the tools I needed for doing so. But that took a LONG
time before I realized that. It would have been more useful to do it
earlier.

I can think of a number of components for helping people realize it earlier.
Part of it is in the study technique, remembering all the time that the
words you read are not the real thing, but they only point to what is there
to learn. Part of it is in the attitude of processing, always helping people
to reach the point where they're looking for themselves. And then there are
processes one could run that would look for false data and that kind of
thing. And "admin" type processes that are directly oriented towards what
one is doing in life, like admin scales.
