I think that control-Q and control-S should be avoided because of their
commonly accepted X-ON and X-OFF functionality. You could, of course, make
control-S (X-OFF) be pause, and control-Q (X-ON) be resume. This, from a
blind user's perspective, is, in my opinion, better than one key which toggles
as the user need not remember the current state.

I'm one of those dreaded "Emacs haters", as I find its key bindings to be most
unintuitive. Ones fingers would have to be all over the keyboard, even
switching which control key is being used, just to do something simple like
jumping back and forth with varying interval lengths in order to find a spot in
a clip. If that's what everyone else wants, however, then I'll shut up because
I'm sure you don't want to get into supporting multiple schemes.
