Dear Izzy,

Does it really matter to you to know whether I am against Christmas?  Most people, 99%, cannot be bothered with the truth.  They are too busy.

I understand that there is only so much time.  But when the Lord brings something to my attention, it is my duty before Him, because I love Him and want to do what is pleasing in His sight, to search out a matter.

The disciple Jesus loved, John, was perhaps the last surviving apostle.  According to secular history, he was sentenced to death and dropped into a huge vat full of boiling oil.  He survived.  He was sent to "the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ." (Rev. 1:9)  It is believed by some that he canonized the New Testament writings there for us today.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.  For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. (1JO 5:2-3)
Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. (1JO 5:21)

Many of John's writings dealt with the influx of ideas that were foreign to the Gospel that were entering into the body of Christ.   The early followers of Jesus did not celebrate birthdays.  They resisted heathen practices that were against God.  I seek to be like my "primitive" brethren.  They knew the comandments.

DEU 18:9    ¶ When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth
thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those
            nations.
JER 10:2    Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not
dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at
            them....................read this.

Am I against Christmas?

I love God.  What does the Lord lead you to believe about me in this matter?

Love,

Marlin

I don't have time to read all the links.  Martin, are you against Christmas?  Don't do like the Mormons, just give me a yes or no.
