Brother John,

My responses in blue (you better duck)

And you believe that as well, unless you are still butchering bulls and goats out in your backyard.

No need, my Christ, the Messiah said âit is finishedâ, which was foretold in the Law many years prior.

Did you forget the lesson of 2 Corinthians 3? 2 Corinthians 3:13   And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:

Moses looked through to the abolishment of the Levitical and sacrificial system, and saw the finished work of the Messiah (which is why he glowed), he yet continued in sacrifice because he knew that the time had not come.

Have you forgotten the lesson of 1 Corinthians 10, they (Israelites in the wilderness) were all baptized into Moses, ate the same spiritual meat and drank of the same spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

The law by which we are judged is no longer a code of conduct, written in stone or in some way codified.

And you are saying that Abraham, Isaac, David etcâ were judged by a code of conduct? âAbraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousnessâ. Abraham hath whereof to glory, but not before Godâ.

Rather we are judged in view of an inwardness that gives us a relationship with God, knowingly or not;    that says "yes" to the faith of Christ and His sacrifice providing our gracious redemption.

Are you actually saying that the Israelites were somehow judged differently?Â

It is not about commandment keeping or a degree of holiness.

Surely you are speaking of the perversion of the Pharisee. Do not hang such on what God has called perfect and just and holy.

The Law has not changed it has always cursed the self-reliant and empowered the faithful and trusting. Did you forget the lesson of the Psalms and later quoted in Romans âthere are none that seeketh God, they have all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable, there none righteous, no not oneâ?

Name one individual in the Bible that was not borne under the penalty of death, name one, other than Jesus that could boast perfect adherence to the commandments.

It is a nice story you tell about coming home, but home has rules and conditions for remaining.

The ending of the sacrificial system was part of the beginning of the Law. ÂÂThe commandments came after grace, because of transgression. 420 years later to be specific.

Hebrews 4:3   For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
