Letterman has been doing two shows on Mondays - one for Monday and one for Friday for some time now. That's why it was news when they actually taped a new show the Friday after the Thursday V.P. debate for airing that night.
But I'm not aware of any jokes in the monologue being changed from the Monday for Friday taping.
