Gawkerhas video of Leno's report on his SB party with Dave: http://gawker.com/5467280/jay-leno-on-his-late-show-super-bowl-promo-a-good-joke-is-a-good-joke?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+gawker%2Ffull+%28Gawker%29&utm_content=Google+Feedfetcher
"I walk in and I see Dave, and he puts out his hand and we shake hands. And you know, whatever happened for the last 18 years disappeared. It was great to see my old friend again. It was wonderful—he was very gracious, we talked about the old days, we told some jokes... you know, it was really good to see him." The spot ends up making everyone even remotely involved look good, and, as has been said, it really was funny, which always solves a lot of problems. I know the optimism implicit in Leno's statement is what a lot of people like about him - I am not an optimist, and I am suspicious of them. I suspect Dave would not describe this in exactly the same terms, but I would like to think there was at least some reciprocal enjoyment of the two getting together again. In my grad school days one of my favorite things was to wander back to my apartment from the library after a late night of studying or working on a project, turn on my little color portable and see Jay with Dave. -- TV or Not TV ....
