NBC has a three year lease on the Burbank studios they used to own, which means, in the short term (which is all they ever bother to think about), somebody else is handling the general maintenance and upkeep on the facility. Meanwhile, the old Conan studio is now a state of the art, HD compatible broadcast studio, just waiting for a game show (like one of the two versions of "The Cube" people are talking about) or another talk show (because there is always another talk show) to move in and pay rent. -- Kevin M.
