I think the various speeches given last night gave a pretty good sense of the tone the film was going for - I think it was the director who emphasized it was anything but sentimental. I have worked with people diagnosed with autism, and their families are often supercharged, passionate advocates. It was to this that some of my comments were directed. Autism is a complicated and frustrating disorder, and it is not always easy to explore the etiological and treatment and prognostic issues without offending someone. I trust Temple Grandin is a good film, and seems to have inspired lots of people, and that is all to the good. -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
