While I am here, I will take a seat on the side that says that racist jokes do not deserve the hemlock. I am surprised by the assumption that anyone has forgotten that incident, or has somehow given Richards a pass. It is brought up almost anytime his name is, and he has not exactly strolled back into the mainstream of popular culture. I know Kevin has a problem with public apologies, but really, this is why society has evolved that ritual. We all say and do stupid and mean things, often without a very good reason or excuse. People who do the same stupid and mean things over and over again should be socially punished; people who acknowledge the mistake and apologize for it should be allowed back in the tribe where they are offered shelter from the cold and dark. -- -- TV or Not TV ....
