I posted over in the Tweety thingy that my late mother used to say that
Gone With The Wind wasn’t an especially good movie, but it sold well
because it was a long movie, which meant teenage movie-goers had more time
to make out in the balcony.

I remember getting the big special edition box of VHS tapes when they were
released in the 80s. We sat down as a family to watch it. My mom fell
asleep. None of us had any interest in putting in the second tape, so we
all wandered off and when my mom woke up, we just told her we had watched
the whole movie. To this day I’ve not seen it all the way through.
