A lot of this podcast is filler but I have an opportunity to listen so I figured I could just use this thread to post announcements for people who are interested and who don’t want to put the time in to listen to whole episodes.
This week had the Tournament of Champions announcement. Since there was no tournament last season this one will cover the last two seasons. There will be 21 contestants, 17 from the show, 2 from the Second Chance Tournament, the winner of the college tournament, and the winner of the professor’s tournament. Amy Schneider, Matt Amodio, and Mattea Roach get byes into the semifinal. The other 18 play a quarterfinal to determine 6 semifinalists. When the 3 finalists are determined they will play a GOAT tournament style final: the first to win 3 games wins the tournament. What they are trying to eliminate is players playing it safe in Final Jeopardy. So there will be no wild card semifinalists and no two game cumulative score. They had to do the byes because the alternative is starting the tournament with 27 players and they’d be picking 1 and 2 game winners to fill the slots.
