What McNally did was obnoxious and unethical. He owns a private business and if he wants to ban a customer for objectionable behavior, I have no problem with that. But to shame the customer in public is over the line.
Corden’s public apology puzzles me. If he felt like he did something wrong, his publicist could say it’s a private matter and he could make a private apology to the restaurant owner and/or the staff. If he felt like he was in the right, he could call out the restaurant for having substandard food and service. A public apology just looks like he’s begging to be let back in.
