It's easy to implement encryption but you'll have to add key exchange also and exclude possibility of key sniffing what is quite harder.
Just start with a fixed strong password, and add to it a variable salt that can be a hash of some of the client/server header fields. One of this fields could be the local time, that will be used by the Client/Server to select what method to use in the construction of the value to hash, such as if this time is odd or even, etc.. Use this password+salt to encrypt the data.
