I'm looking at the source of the View Helper and it looks odd to me, I
don't know, I prefer TS way.
Try to set config.uniqueLinkVars = 1

2. HMENU.special = language + cooluri - work

I tried many options, but no luck, maybe someone of FluidTYPO3 team have

This looks like you'd have baseUrl including language (/en), which would
be wrong.
By default, link to default language on homepage points to empty URL or
"/".
