Bill: I guess I'm venting. I feel I've memorized most everything that I need but when it comes to the SP-EDIT and SP-KILL things to handle spooler troubles, it always seems to be a hunt & peck issue. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. That was reinforced with the AP-PRO manual labeling it as Spooler Warfare (page 13 under STARTPTR). It also uses the word lobotomy.
D3 apparently doesn't appear to be any different except that you have a harder time killing jobs that have already left D3 and are now on the NT box. They're unaccessable by D3 as they are truly printed by then. But the commands didn't appear to change except the inclusion of the DEV-MAKE kind of commands. When I discovered the PEQS file I was hoping that it would be like the _HOLD_ file in UD. Wrong. It was useless to help me manage the jobs. So I Wrote my own SP-JOBS borrowing from my 26 years of Microdata and got most of the features done, albeit with difficulty with changing form-queues. I have one MVBase client and if they ever decide, I will switch them to D3 in an instant. Thanks.
