A possitility is to mount a remote disk from a Windows system into a partition on the Universe server. The Universe program can create its files there. The Windows clients can also mount this file system.

If you look at that program in FTBP you'll see it calls subroutine FTS, which you can also use as desired. From there you're down to ESCape sequences, which really aren't bad after you've spent a few minutes and get to that "oh I get it" point.
