Why not? I do that with PDF files just fine. Just make sure the MIME
content is correct in the response header, for the file type you're serving.

And if the client and server are on the same network, why not have a specific type 1 file that is shared, so the client can reference it with an url and accuterm would just fire up Word directly (don't know accuterm, but if Wintegrate can do it surely accuterm can too). If it's a Windows server no probs, *nix server just run Samba.
