Fundamentally, I would suggest this _might_ be a potential discarding of
valuable time, interest, and effort.

Unlike the other *buntus, _U_buntu's current lead designer is sabdfl.
He will make the decisions.

That said, attempting to develop within the community for _U_buntu is
going to be very hit and miss until the current situation changes.
Everyone is welcome to shoot into the darkness and hope something
sticks, but that is a horrible method to spend time.

Further still, even if something does find the liking, the overarching
design concerns (guidelines, palette, structure, etc.) will never be
addressed following this technique.

On a positive note, in the interim, it might be wise to dedicate your
wonderful level of interest to a faction of the artwork community that
would very likely consider and utilize your creative input / output.  We
have some wonderful theme teams formed that would dearly love to have
more participation.
