Not really for me. Shutdown seems to work always, reboot mostly but switching to a console crashes my system nearly every time (HP compaq nx5000 with 855GM graphics). Don't know if it is a coincidence - but everything seem to work (incl. console switching) every time I did a successful reboot from within GNOME (without powering off the machine)!?
The i810 driver an 915resolution package works totally stable for me - wouldn't it be better to use the 'i810' driver as default instead 'intel' on fresh installed systems (as in pre 7.10)? People could get distracted from using Linux if their system crashes every time they just want to shutdown or reboot - so I would say this bug should really be fixed before 7.10 Final. -- laptop hangs when switching video mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/127101 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
