Yeah, sorry, I stopped updating because, whenever I updated to a newer
kernel, my keyboard would stop working (the current kernel I had to
rebuild with a number for HID increased to get the keyboard
operational), which was a more serious problem for me than the lack of
multitouch.

I will give the stock Linux Mint 18.2 and/or Ubuntu 17.04 a try from a
USB-drive in the weekend, see if anything has been solved more recently.
