Thanks for the detail test. I have another X1 Carbon 6th, but it cann't reproduce your issue.
Could you isolate which change solve this issue? 1, suspend/resume; 2, kernel update; 3, libinput update. My X1 Carbon's PnP ID is the same as yours, so I think we have the same touchpad.
