I have VirtualBox 6.1 installed. It was working perfectly, then suddenly I get "kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)" when I attempt to start a virtual machine.
My Linux system is 5.11.0-27-generic #29~20.04.1-Ubuntu. Is this fault because a new Linux kernel has been released but VirtualBox not been updated? This happened once before and after a few days a new VirtualBox was released (by Ubuntu) and the problem was solved. If it is the same problem, some mechanism/procedure needs to be put in place so that VirtualBox does not stop working when a new Linux kernel is released. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1938953 Title: virtualbox-dkms 6.1.16-dfsg-6~ubuntu1.20.04.2: virtualbox kernel module failed to build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox/+bug/1938953/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
