@norritt: I don't see that working at all, or they'd have to support older HWE kernels much longer. It took a while to get the virtualbox and broadcom packages working with 6.17, and there are still -dkms packages that don't work with 6.17 (some intentionally because they're no longer needed with 6.17). If they held up the HWE kernel release for that, it would never get released. Virtualbox is certainly popular, but they can't hold up the whole HWE kernel release for it.
