Update: on my machine the internal microphone now works. The fix is most
likely the GPIO 11 kernel parameter that also fixes the camera (bug 2164574).
What I changed on 2026-10-07:
1. Kernel 7.0.0-34 -> 7.0.0-38-generic (noble-updates).
2. Kernel parameter:
gpiolib_acpi.ignore_interrupt=AMDI0030:00@11
After the reboot the camera showed up for the first time (0408:4035,
uvcvideo, "ACER HD User Facing"). The internal microphone also started
to record real signal. A 3 second capture from the default source
(ALC245 Analog, Internal Mic, S16 48 kHz) gave peak 32768, rms 2951.
Before, the same path returned only zeros. No codec fixup and no ACP
change were needed. arecord -l still shows only the ALC245.
I did not boot -38 without the parameter, so on my side I can't say which
change fixed the mic. But the comment above reports kernel 7.0.0-38
without the parameter and still all zeros. So the kernel alone is not it,
and GPIO 11 is the likely cause.
Background: the BIOS drives GPIO 11 of AMDI0030 as an output, high. The
same pin is listed in _AEI with an empty handler. Linux claims it as an
interrupt at boot and the pin stops driving the line. It looks like the
camera module and the microphone share that supply.
Upstream fix for the camera, a DMI quirk on "Acer Nitro V 16S AI":
6da1f3437435 "gpiolib: acpi: Ignore GPIO 11 interrupt on Acer Nitro V 16S AI"
It is in the GPIO fixes tree and not in mainline yet. If it is
backported, it should fix the microphone on this model as well.
To the other ANV16S-41 owner: please try the parameter above and tell
us if your microphone records anything.
