Sure--I had a bad event last night--I had turned "splash" back on --had several boot/reboots that worked as expected, then had a very bad one -----bios warnings on reboot--followed by a boot that was solid warnings with a damaged / partition that required a manual fsck to fix it.......as you might guess I went back to "quiet splash". The weird part is that with quiet splash there are no problems.....drive in question is 3 months old---installed during hardy. Ah--the joys of alpha testing :)
