My own experience with Swiss Remix Build 11 is actually that it doesn't work
for
an ethernet LAN either, if you have to assign an IP manually. It also seems to
lack a field for entering the netmask. I'll try out a straight Kubuntu tomorrow
in comparison.

Other KDE4.2 Usability bugs:

The new Kickoff-style Menu is still dreadful. It is possble to switch to the
KDE3.5 classic style (right-click), but this then lacks the entries for suspend
or hibernate and other things you can't easily put in yourself.

With Konqueror it seems impossible to mount other partitions. It no longer has
starting option pointing to various places and profiles. With Dolphin, the
partitions are mountable, but lots of other features are missing. Therefore you
may need to use both.

I realise this is OT here, but I need to gripe! Otherwise KDE4.2 has lots of
terrific features. I just wish they'd merged with Gnome beforehand, which seems
to want to do a major rebuild as well...

Cheers, Theo
