The RAM usage seems to be abnormal to me for a fresh install. Also
90-95% CPU usage is abnormal.
For nvidia cards Ubuntu is using new open source driver 'nouveau' by
default. Considering that it is very new code there might be memory
leakages.

You may want to report a bug.
