PS:

Oops, for hardy you might need to compile GRUB2, the package GRUB2 seem
not to include GRUB2.

http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/amd64/grub2/filelist

But if you reinstall GRUB(1) there seem to be a script update-grub for
it too.
