Sorry to say it's more usually around the middle of the day in the UK; with Canonical's HQ in London, trying to release first thing usually doesn't work out, as there are too many things to do that day beforehand. That sort of time of day also means we have no trouble catching the European press, while the American press pick it up as soon as they wake up. Of course, this might work out OK for morning launch parties as long as they were willing to run a bit late.
