I see.

So that leads me to my next question, is it possible to forward the port
to say, a virtual machine and then have another PC connect into the
virtual machine to pick up the port forwarding. Sort of a proxy as such.

The reason I ask, is I mainly do support from my laptop, however I'm not
always on the same connection, sometimes I could be on my home
connection, sometimes on my 3G connection or other times on a
friends/work places connection.

I'm wondering it maybe it's possible to have the remote machines connect
to the virtual machine, and then have this forwarded on to my laptop
where ever I'm connecting from by having my laptop connect into the
virtual machine too.

The only way I can think of doing it is to maybe setup FreeNX on the
virtual machine and have it run VNC and then use the laptop to connect
into the FreeNX session.

Does this make any sense?
