DBO on IRC thought they had an instance of this bug, but turned out in their case to be caused by overlay-scrollbar, which appears to be resulting in a lot of bugs with similar symptoms (white screens, application-specificness, goes away after uninstalling overlay- scrollbar). See bug #770304 as an example.
