I agree with David Lopez: For me, the problem also persists when installing fonts-cantarell. Mostly, drop-down menus and tooltips are totally corrupted. Scrolling is worse than with the open driver. But 3D effects are far smoother. From time to time the screen flickers completely. Overall, gnome-shell is unusable.
Also using Ubuntu 11.10 64bit and and fglrx 2:8.881-0ubuntu4.1. I tried the newest driver from the ATI website (11.10) and it doesn't fix the problem. Additionally, there are module loading problems with this version. But I think, this should be another bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/838577 Title: GNOME Shell display problems with FGLRX To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/fglrx/+bug/838577/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
