Not just Nvidia driver, also open sourced driver has problem. It happened once with my ATI too. What can i say more - 12.04 is the most buggy release. Even with Unity 2D i had some problems but after all Unity 2D is useless for long work. Canonical can't complain about people switching back to Windows or anothe distro. Don't take me wrong - Ubuntu is fantastic and loved Unity but this bugs with crashing Xorg are so important. I lost lot works and time with bug reporting... and really don't understand why you guys started make 12.10 when you don't have finished 12.04!
