I agree with #70 that it's not necessarily a nv related bug. I updated to 12.04 from my very stable 11.10 and I had the very annoying random log offs. I spend some time trying many different options (switching to nouveau, trying different nvidia drivers, ...) but none worked for me. Then I installed a clean version with minimal packages and start try and error with different packages. And finally I think I have found the package that was causing the crash: it was the google talk browser plugin. I tried it several times, and without the gtalk plugin my precise is quite stable. Is there anyone CC'ed on this bug having the google talk plugin installed? If you guys can reproduce what I have experienced, we can report it too Google and they will quickly resolve it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/980519 Title: Random log off in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/980519/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
