I was getting random crashes until last night when I installed the
kernel from comment #91, and it's been stable since then.

BUT I've noticed some other weirdness since installing it. Most
noticeably sometime cron jobs don't run and  I have thins line in
/etc/rc.local to dim the laptop's screen which doesn't work anymore,
even when I switch back to the old kernel:

echo 0 > /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness
