@Tye, I understand you "sudo service lightdm stop" and inspect the pstree for any GL processes...What I'm saying is that the following Package 'X Org Core Server 2:1.11.4-0ubuntu10.7' writes over a file like '/usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so' that the Nvidia Driver Package relies on and that the X Org Core Server package installer script needs to be careful not to mess with files like that...
