Thanks for the backport. Without cstate arg, I had a freeze within a few minutes. With cstate arg and patch no problems. The justification for the patch seems quite reasonable, it just doesn't affect freezing on my setup (ASUS T100-CHI Mint17.2/Cinnamon).
