I assume the bunching up you refer to is caused by the low resolution. It seems that it chooses 1024x768 without KMS, in which case there will be more space, but it is still not the native resolution of 1280x1024. From the logs it is clear that it does not manage to read the EDID in this case either, it just guesses a higher resolution. > I would like to try a 64-bit approach however I am a little afraid that > the hardware would not be capable of it and since I do not understand > enough about it. So your system should be capable of running 64-bit. It's what it's made for. That being said, it's not really a big deal. I can do without it. -- [i965Q] screen resolution only "sees" 640x480 and 800x600 since Karmic fresh install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/470224 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
