Dear all,
CHOSUG has been quite over the last months and one of the reasons is
that we have a problem in the way we communicate: the last announcements
were posted in the forum and were NOT forwarded to the mailing list that
most of us actually monitor... It was a surprise to me since I thought
that both the forum and the mailing list were in sync... Actually, it
seems that the sync is only in one direction: mailing list -> forum but
not the reverse....
That said, I would like to announce a couple of things and to start a
poll of on how we should run CHOSUG to better serve the community:
* ANNOUNCEMENTS:
o Since August 29th 2007, CHOSUG pages moved to:
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/chosug/ there is now
a RSS feed for all announcements regarding CHOSUG:
http://www.opensolaris.org/rss/os/project/chosug/announcements/rss2.xml
o We tentatively planned to do the next CHOSUG events next
week about Solaris Express Developer Edition 09/07 (SXDE
09/07), the idea is to have a presentation on how to install
SXDE on your laptop and then to have an Install Fest i.e
bring your laptops and we will help each other to have SXDE
running on it.
o *However, since we did not get registrations we POSTPONE all
the events to end of November. New dates will be posted next
week on this mailing list.*
* POLL (please reply to the mailing list)
1. Do you think we should do the CHOSUG events in the evening
(i.e 17:00 -> 20:00) OR during the day like we did so far?
2. Please list your three most important things you expect from
CHOSUG?
3. Please list your three favorite topics you would like to see
CHOSUG cover in the next months?
4. Do you agree with the frequence of every 3 months for CHOSUG
events?
5. We need CHOSUG leaders to help us drive the community since
none of us is doing this as his full time job. Would you
agree to join the CHOSUG leaders?
So, please make your voice heard. It is a community, we all have to make
it happen.
Cheers
